  2. Still waiting here, too. Just received a confirmation after sending in the claims form, that i should receive compensation within 6 month.

Rav, can you confirm you got that letter too (stating 6 month), and received compensation almost thereafter?

    Best regards

  3. All claims have a time of 6 months, but in my opinion, you should receieve the payments in the following weeks.
Please email me at nshah10@hotmail.com for any other queries.
    Good luck all

  8. Rav, resp. everyone else who received a cheque,

did you have a claim in GBP or EUR? Residing in Great Britain or International client?

    1. Germany (in GBP) still waiting :( No info! just automatic response after my mail with scanned application. No reply after my several email enquiries! This is an absurdity! How long will it take? Maybe 6 months? KPMG and FSCS have all crucial info about our accounts. Is it so hard for someone from the FSCS to sent us a check? Damn it! Never again!

  9. In Spain one person has received today the check

  10. I think that Rav has somebody in the FSCS that help him to receive compensation as priority. In France still no money. It's a little confusing! The FSCS already knows the details of our accounts and the whole process of receiving compensation is moving too slowly!

  11. And now again a day without envelope, no response to my emails, making fools of us. In my country there were two similar cases and all investors received compensations in the period of 3-4 months!

  12. I'm in the UK and still waiting despite having sent application form back to them immediately around 2 July. Anyone else in the same situation ?

  13. I am in touch with some people in France, Germany, Greece and Poland. There are no money yet!!! This is a paranoid situation!!! How much time does it take to send a check? Perhaps in this case Rav will speak to us. Because I do not know what to think. This is nonsense. Entering data on a check and sending it to the recipient takes a few seconds. No information on website, no response to email inquiries. Is this a standard procedure in the UK? In third world countries within 3 months the case would be closed.

  16. Still waiting for my cheque in UK. Phoned FSCS last Monday but that was a waste of time. He just said that the company doing it had 17000 claims to go through and it depended on how many claim experts they had working on it. Not many by the sounds of it. All a bunch of crooks. How do I even know if they've already sent it and the postman has delivered it to the wrong house like he often does to my mail? I should be able to call someone and find out the status at least. Another week of waiting goes by. Good luck to the rest of you. Rant over.

  17. ESTIMATED TIME FOR GETTING MONEY BACK(based on 2 person UK sample)
OK guys just to give you a rough idea how long it took to process my claim (Individual circumstances may vary e.g. different country, claim value disputes etc...):

2 July 2012: Received email from Worldspreads with application form to fill.

17 July 2012: Downloaded & completed & posted FSCS Claim form

20 July 2012: Received letter from FSCS saying received application and could take up to 6mths to process.

    15 August 2012: BUT...Finally, Cheque has arrived!

I'm assuming RAV sent in his documents straight away on July 2nd with a REF number of 00125 means it took 1 month. I completed my documents on 17th July and REF number is 01100 and it took just over 1mth. Based on that small sample the Answer is it should take about 1mth from the time you send off your FSCS form. But they do say it can take up to 6mths if you have some complex case. So if you don't hear anything by January 2013 you can start worrying. Otherwise just sit and wait.

    1. I emailed my signed claim form on the 3rd July & received confirmation letter on 6th July. I then got a second confirmation letter on 20th August saying they are looking into my claim and will respond asap. No idea why I got this second letter and others haven't. Just some cruel letter to get my hopes up. Has anyone else got this second confirmation letter?

I'm WORS0079 so that number is irrelevant as is the time the form was sent in as my case proves. Seems like they work on some random theory to process. Still waiting and getting more annoyed by the day.

As you say, I will really start worrying if I don't get anything by end of 2012. 4 more months of waiting at worst...

  19. My is 00676, Germany, no money

  20. You'll probably get your money back in the end, but I guess, REF Number doesn't tell us much about when we get paid. They do say the longest time it will take is 6mths so January 2013 is probably the latest you should hear from them. It could be any of 100 reasons why it is taking so long; your surname(alphabet), when you sent your form, mistakes, fund disputes, ID checking, address errors, where you live(country-different rules), how much Worldspreads lost in your account, how many people they got working on processing, delays in mail....etc

The good thing is it has stopped me spread betting and I haven't lost any money in ages!! Good always comes out of bad lol!!

    Got my cheque this week
I was ref number 401 ( if that means anything)

Thanks Rav for setting up this blog, it did ease some of my anxiety to have somewhere to read informed facts on the matter.

So i wonder what is happening to the Directors...I suppose that like MF it will be a shrug of the shoulders and incompetency accepted as a defense.
